The Killing of Clayton Wayne Daniels

In 2005, Clayton “Clay” Daniels was declared dead.  The story takes a turn when authorities discover he in fact had never died.  He and his wife Molly had staged his death in order to evade a potentially lengthy prison sentence for a previous offense.  The body they dug up and burned in an attempt to make look like Clay was that of Charlotte Davis, a sweet 81 year old woman who was mentally challenged and had passed away only 6 months previous.  This story is sad and twisted from beginning to end.

A large portion of the research for this episode was made possible by this 2005 article from The Texas Prosecutor.  Check it out here, beginning at page 22.

This awful crime was covered on Forensic Files, you can find it on YouTube, or here.
